“Goodnight, Campsite” was born of a love of camping and books, and it filled a rather large void, children’s books about recreational vehicles (RVs). While there are many general camping books centered around tents, specific books featuring RVs are few and far between. So...I wrote one! ;-)
"Goodnight, Campsite,” is set in a beautiful nature park. The story follows visitors as they explore the park during the day (hiking, biking, fishing, etc.), and then returns with them to their campsite at night.
Preschool-aged children will love the beautiful and colorful pictures – and searching for the squirrel hiding in the pictures.
Rhyming text will keep children engaged, as they build sound associations and phonemic skills. Also included in the book is a Campsite Bingo game!

Early Reader - I am several drafts in to a book centered around a squirrel in a campground. My goal with this story is to reach our early readers, those just starting chapter books.
ABC Book - So many revisions! I've started and thrown away so many ABC-type books centered around camping and RVs. Some have been very straight forward, "H is for Hitch." While others are more lyrical, "N is for Nature..." The current front runner is more of a concept book on adventure.
Collection of Short Stories - I've recently been reading many of David Lubar's collections of short stories, which my children and I love. These stories are geared for the middle grade reader. I'm still experimenting with story ideas and learning the craft of writing short stories. It's been very fun!
What If.... - Many of my ideas start out with a "What if..." question. Many times these questions just bounce around in my head, fill journals, and go no where. But "What if..." one of those questions lead to a great story?
