We haven’t always lived in such a cold place. We used to live in Southern California, not the nice part, but still the warm part. We were able to take our RV out all year. We even spent one Christmas in our RV – it was a great adventure! We didn’t know how good we had it.
For those of us who now live in colder climates, we can only dream and wait for summer camping.
Make Reservations: Above all other preparations, making reservations should be at the top of your list. State Parks typically have a 6-month window for reservations. National Parks are often one year. Private parks vary. Check with your destination of choice, set reminders on your phone, and make those reservations EARLY.
Consider Maintenance Projects: An RV is both a residence and a vehicle, and there are things that require attention and often work. Consider the age and condition of your systems. Do things need replacing? Are inspections needed? Are there maintenance issues that could be addressed in the winter, rather than eating up valuable summer camping days?
